On September 17, 2006, Verland held its 3^rd Annual Bike Ride, at its Ohio Township campus. Once again, the Blue Knights, Chapter VII sponsored this event and helped to make it an enjoyable day for over 100 riders. Everyone participated in a great ride, afternoon festivities which included excellent food from Chuck Kalb, bike games, raffles, and fabulous music from the band, Dante’s Inferno.

Special thanks to the Blue Knights, the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Department for a uniformed police escort, Infamous Choppers at www.infamouschoppers.com, the Iron Knights, Giant Eagle’s Teamster Horsemen Motorcycle Association, Patsy Costanza for “blessing of the bikes”, and all the volunteers who worked so hard to make this a fantastic day.

Many of the Verland individuals and staff were thrilled to be able to meet and talk to the riders in the afternoon. Although the day was filled with lots of fun, Verland greatly appreciates the generosity of everyone who showed their support to our special individuals.
