Annual Motorcycle Ride benefits Verland

On September 16, 2007, Verland held its 4^th Annual Bike Ride, at its Ohio Township main campus. Once again, the Blue Knights, Chapter VII sponsored this ride, and they worked hard to make this event such an enjoyable day for more than 150 riders and passengers. After an escorted 2-hour ride throughout Allegheny County, Chuck Kalb and his new bride provided a great luncheon where many of the Verland individuals and staff were able to meet and talk to the riders. Several family members stopped by to spend time with their loved ones at the luncheon too. Dante’s Inferno Band provided great background music during the afternoon festivities.

Special thanks to the Blue Knights, Chapter VII for sponsoring us again, the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Department for a uniformed police escort, the Giant Eagle’s Teamster Horsemen Motorcycle Association for their continued support, Patsy Costanza for our “Blessing of the Bikes”, everyone who participated in the ride and all the volunteers who worked so hard to make this a great day for all to enjoy. Many of the Verland individuals and staff were thrilled to be able to meet and talk to the riders in the afternoon. Although the day was filled with lots of fun, Verland greatly appreciates the generosity of everyone who showed their support to our special individuals.
