Verland is very grateful to the Community Foundation of Fayette County (CFFC) for 300 masks that our Poplar Lane home in Uniontown has received through CFFC. CFFC received grants from several local foundations in support of their Mask Initiative, and these grants have enabled the Foundation to donate masks to organizations in Fayette, Greene, Washington, and Westmoreland Counties in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Verland’s clients with severe disabilities and the Direct Support Professionals who serve them have benefitted greatly from the donation of these masks for deployment and use in our Uniontown home as the costs have increased significantly for the measures that Verland must take to ensure the safety of our clients and staff and to curb the spread of illness during this COVID-19 pandemic. We would like to acknowledge CFFC’s generous and much-needed assistance with the donation of these masks. It is truly fortunate for the residents of the counties served by CFFC that this community foundation is there for them in time of need, and that Verland and other health care and residential service providers has had the opportunity to apply for and receive the vital, and sometimes difficult to acquire, personal protective equipment that we need to provide our important services during this health crisis. We thank CFFC for their support and their caring, and we are grateful that we have the opportunity to request additional masks when they are needed for our Poplar Lane home.
