Dr. Marianne (Mari) DiMatteo

Chief Operations Officer

Dr. Marianne (Mari) DiMatteo assumed the role of Chief Operations Officer with Verland on April 1, 2024.  Dr. DiMatteo has over 30 years of leadership experience in the non-profit arena, with a majority in a senior leadership capacity. Dr. DiMatteo has overseen complex teams of employees working in outpatient, inpatient, community-based crisis, residential and community-based settings. Extensive experience working and communicating with all levels of organizational leadership and local, state and federal stakeholders. Proven track record of program development and diversification within nonprofit human service organizations, serving diverse populations and service provision modalities, including Certified Community Behavioral Health Center (CCBHC) grants and certification. Solid reputation for organizational culture development and corresponding team, leadership, and board development, along with staff recruitment and retention.

Dr. DiMatteo has made key contributions to organizational and program expansion, the generation of multimillion dollar annual revenue increases through program launch and expansion initiatives and has made a significant impact in improving behavioral healthcare services within Pennsylvania, Indiana, and New York State non-profits.

Most recently, prior to joining the Verland team, Dr. DiMatteo served as the CEO/President of the Children’s Home of Jefferson County located in Watertown, NY. Children’s Home of Jefferson County is one of the oldest non-profit organizations serving the North Country of New York with organizational roots as an orphanage starting in 1859. The organization employs 190 employees and provides services across 30 unique service lines to help youth, adults and families succeed and thrive.

Previously Dr. DiMatteo served as the CEO/President of Grant Blackford Mental Health based in Marion, Indiana. Grant Blackford Mental Health is a not-for-profit corporation with 200 employees and 19 facilities, serving two counties and approximately 2,000 consumers with outpatient behavioral health to include mental health and substance use disorder treatment, assertive community treatment (ACT), and a 16-bed inpatient psychiatric hospital.

Dr. DiMatteo served as the Chief Operations Officer at Familylinks, Inc., Pittsburgh, PA, and Community Guidance Center, Inc., Indiana, PA. She also served at another Pennsylvania child and family welfare agency Family Care for Children and Youth based out of Lewisburg, PA.

Dr. DiMatteo holds a PhD in Administration and Leadership Studies from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania, a Master of Social Work from California University of Pennsylvania, California, PA, and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Saint Vincent College, Latrobe, PA.

Dr. DiMatteo is happily married to Steven DiMatteo. Dr. DiMatteo is the proud mother of three beautiful and successful children and the proud “Gimmi” to three wonderful grandchildren.
