Don't Take Our Word For It
In a world that is sometimes bereft of kindness and compassion, Verland is a beacon of hope for individuals with developmental and/or physical disabilities. Verland is a state of the art facility run by highly skilled professionals who care for the physical, educational, and medical needs of their clients. Most of all Verland is a loving family devoted to giving the very best quality of life to each and every individual in their care. There is a special place in my heart for all of the therapists, nurses, managers and entire world staff at Verland – they are truly our better angels on a mission of love.”
Michael B. Carlin
“As Caitlin’s father I have come to know that my daughter is safe and happy at Verland, and that is the most important thing in my life. I cannot fully express my appreciation to all the staff that cares for my daughter, as a nurse I admire their patience and dedication every day”
Kevin Nauer
“It didn’t take long once Nicholas had become a resident of Verland at the age of eight we knew his individual needs were provided with support and dignity our son deserved. Nicholas is blessed to receive such great care and love from everyone who makes up Verland.”

“We write in appreciation and praise of Verland staff members who do so much, big and little things that mean so much to the happiness and well-being of our daughter, Angela Long. For example, consider what it takes for Angela to visit us at our home. Several days ahead of the visit, a QIDP schedules the visit and makes necessary arrangements. On the day of the visit one or two DSPs bathe Angela, fix her hair, pick out nice clothes and get her ready to go. A nurse prepares and delivers medications that Angela will need while she is away. A driver and an attendant inspect and clean a van, and then come to Angela’s house to load her and her wheelchair. The driver finds the way to bring Angela to our home, where she and her wheelchair are unloaded, and a time is set for the driver to return to get her. After Angela’s visit, the driver and attendant return, pick up Angela and take her back to her home at Verland. DSPs then attend to Angela’s needs after her big day with Mom and Dad. Thank you, Verland staff, for these and all the other little things that mean so much to Angela – and to us too.”

“The hardest decision my family ever made was the day we let our sister Nancy go to her new home. It was a sad day but also the best day. Verland has been the best for Nancy. I (Sheryl) have never seen her so happy. She gets the well-deserved attention she has always needed. Verland and the wonderful staff go above and beyond for my sister. The day we brought Nancy to Verland I asked my parents to give us some type of sign that what we were doing for Nancy was the right thing. Sure enough we were getting out of the car and right in front of us was the most beautiful sign from our parents – a beautiful buck and doe (my parents loved deer). It made us cry with happiness. We truly knew this was now her home. It’s been years now and I could not be happier than I am now for my sister. I love her with all my heart.

Support Our Mission
Verland was established through the love and compassion of its three founders and the generosity of one individual who was inspired to share her good fortune with others by donating the land on which Verland’s Ohio Township campus was built. Today, your support is needed to continue building community homes, expand the capacity of all facilities, and support our 230 individuals with loving care.
