Traditional, complementary, and recreational therapy services

Verland is proud to offer a variety of skilled therapy services ranging from the traditional physical, occupational, speech, and behavioral interventions, to augmentative and complementary equestrian, aquatic, music, and massage treatments.

All therapies operate Monday through Friday within Verland’s Adult Training Facility, in the residents’ homes, and across our beautiful campus.

The Habilitation Services team is comprised of certified and licensed therapists, certified nurse assistants, and therapy aides within their given scope of practice. The team boasts knowledge, expertise, and compassion for serving individuals of all abilities. Our goal is to provide extraordinary, skill-based care to support and enrich the lives of our residents.

Adapted Aquatics

Our Adapted Aquatics program provides the opportunity to enjoy the many benefits of water through a custom-tailored experience in our campus pool.

Equestrian Therapy

We’re proud to offer this service providing physical, occupational, and psychological growth within a recreational setting.

Myofascial Therapy

Myofascial Therapy is a wonderful augmentative and complementary intervention focusing on relaxation, improving circulation, increasing muscle and joint mobility, reducing pain, and assisting digestion.

Music Therapy

Music Therapy is an established health profession in which music is used within a therapeutic relationship to address the physical, emotional, cognitive, and social needs of individuals.

Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapy services emphasize maximum participation and independence in the upper-extremity range of motion, activities of daily living, social and cognitive engagement, as well as self-regulation needed across environments.

Physical Therapy

We provide formal, individualized treatments to maximize independence, improve head and trunk stability and encourage mobility.

Psychology and Behavioral

Our Team utilizes positive reinforcement throughout the day and implements positive approach strategies to facilitate the acquisition of and strengthening of adaptive behaviors.

Restorative Care

The Restorative Care program at Verland is designed to treat individuals who have various cognitive, musculoskeletal, and neurological pathologies. The Restorative Care Aides dovetail skilled rehabilitative treatments with functional, maintenance-based interventions.

Speech-Language Pathology

The Speech-Language Pathology services offered at Verland focus on enhancing the level of verbal and non-verbal communication, oral-motor abilities impacting eating, and hearing proficiencies.

Recreational Therapy

Recreational therapy is a service provided by a certified therapeutic recreation specialist (CTRS) also known as a Recreational therapist (RT). Rec therapy focuses on social, emotional, physical, & cognitive, domains when assessing the individual.
